Thank you for your interest in our #ThatsNotOk campaign.

Sisters Working in Film and TV are dedicated to bringing awareness to the sexual harassment epidemic that continues to plague South Africa’s film & TV industries.

We are also deeply committed to providing support for womxn in these industries who have experienced incidents of sexual violence related to the workplace.

If you have experienced sexual harassment, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. In 2017 Swift conducted a survey on sexual discrimination and harassment. This survey indicated that a startling 66.7% of womxn in the South African film & TV industries feel unsafe in the workplace. See our full survey report HERE.

In an attempt to begin to tackle these issues head-on, we provide our members with access to the following resources:

1. Connection to legal assistance:

SWIFT has established partnerships with legal NGOs who offer pro bono legal assistance to our members. We are in the process of developing a hotline to a network of legal NGOs for assistance, but in the meantime, we will connect members on a case by case basis to legal assistance.

2. Arbitration and Mediation:

As an affiliate member of SACIA, SWIFT can offer it’s members arbitration and mediation options.

3. SWIFT – Life Line Whatsapp Line:

Through our partnership with LifeLine, SWIFT members are eligible to receive free psychosocial therapy.

*Note: This is NOT a crisis line but, rather, a therapy booking line.

How does it work?

It is a booking line for free counselling sessions. If you have experienced any uncomfortable or traumatic experiences on set, you will receive counselling and advice specific to your unique situation.

When to send the WhatsApp?

This WhatsApp number is available to SWIFT members 24/7. You will receive a response within 8 – 24 hours. Please note that this is a booking line for counselling for up to six free sessions. This is not a crisis line, meaning it is not for medical assistance or life-threatening situations.

4. Code of Conduct:

We also urge every production company in South Africa to sign our Code of Conduct. This will allow for faster and more efficient action to be taken if the code is not adhered to.
